B.S. Management Information Systems

I obtained my degree in Information Systems Management at Oklahoma State University's Spears School of Business. This program equipped me with a strong understanding of the seamless integration of information systems within organizations and their pivotal role in shaping managerial decisions. My coursework encompassed a wide range of subjects, including data management, the fundamental principles of people management, coding, and artificial intelligence.

I am a Solutions Consultant at Wolters Kluwer, a global provider of professional information and software solutions across various industries. In this role, I assist customers in finding the right software solutions to support their assurance needs, primarily in internal auditing, but also compliance, and risk management. I rejoined Wolters Kluwer in 2021, having previously worked as an Implementation Consultant from 2012 to 2014.

During my tenure, I've achieved recognition as a subject matter expert on the practice of internal auditing and assurance, obtained ICAgile Certified Professional certification in Business Agility Foundations, and played a key role in developing Agile audit methods and ESG risk assessment scenarios for team training and demonstrations. I have extensive experience using our tools such as TeamMate+ and TeamMate Analytics, along with skills in data analysis, process discovery, and needs assessment.
 

In 2022, I was honored with the 'Over and Above' award for my willingness to contribute to the teams success, and what I enjoy most about my current position is working with talented professionals to help our customers leverage technology for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. I've collaborated closely with the Product Management team to incorporate the voice of the customer into contextual design efforts, contributing to innovative product development.

March 2003 - April 2021

I am a seasoned professional with a rich history in audit management, compliance, and internal audit transformation. My journey began in the energy sector, where I served for nine years in progressive roles from staff auditor at Anadarko Petroleum to the leadership team at Halliburton.  In my leadership roles, I executed the organization's annual forensic audit plan, managed special requests, ensured quality assurance, and shaped audit practices. Notably, I specialized in automating data analysis and audit tests, improving efficiency, and effectiveness.

My expertise expanded at Wolters Kluwer - Financial Services Solutions, where I worked as a Senior Consultant for two years and seven months. Here, I collaborated with teams of various sizes across industries in risk management, compliance, and internal audit to provide best practice reviews, offer consultative services, deliver training, and implement their audit management system. My contributions extended to the publication of a case study and learning exercises in the "Internal Auditing: Assurance & Advisory Services, Third Edition" textbook, showcasing my commitment to knowledge sharing and innovation.

Additionally, my roles as Audit Director for Harris County and the Compliance Manager, at American Bureau of Shipping equipped me with vital skills in audit executive management and compliance in a public sector environment.  My diverse experiences have allowed me to excel in complex environments and contribute significantly to the field of audit and compliance.

In summary, my professional journey reflects a dedication to improving audit practices, compliance programs, and internal audit transformation, bolstered by a commitment to knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Volunteer Positions

Throughout my journey, I've actively contributed to various organizations in a voluntary capacity, harnessing my skills and expertise for the betterment of the community. Currently, I serve as a Member of the Board of Directors at Clayton Library Friends, Inc., a position I've held since April 2023. In this role, I assist in helping the organization publicize and attract visitors to the Houston Public Library Family History Research Center at the Clayton Library Campus.

Previously, I dedicated my time as a Board Member for the Super Neighborhood Council - Area 1 SN#63, affiliated with the City of Houston, from May 2015 to February 2016. This venture was my foray into local politics, where I actively engaged with the community to address concerns and create a positive impact in our neighborhood.

​

Additionally, I was an long time Member of the Board of Directors at the Houston Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Chapter for six years, from July 2015 to June 2021. My role as Director of Technology and Communications allowed me to collaborate with a dynamic team of professionals, working collectively to enhance educational opportunities and create a stronger anti-fraud community.
 

My volunteer activities exemplify my commitment to community development, education, and ethical standards. These experiences have allowed me to make meaningful contributions and work alongside dedicated individuals, leaving a positive imprint in my community.
